STATE CONTROL OF TRANSPORT

POLICY OF BRITISH LABOUR PARTY EXPLAINED (Received January 15, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, January 14. Saying that some might regard him as a wolf in the fold, Mr C. R. Attlee, leader of the Parliamentary Labour party, at a luncheon of the British Railv/ay Stockholders' Union, said that the Labour party intended to take over all transport with compensation, but did not favour control by a Minister sitting at Whitehall. The Labour policy would be along more modern lines and would turn stockholders into holders of shares in, the community, instead of in companies.
