SEIZURE OF MARTA JUNQUERA
CREW LANDED NEAR GIJON (Received January 13, 7.30 p.m.) SANTANDER, January 12, The commander of the German cruiser Konigsberg .telegraphed a message to the Governor of San Sebastian saying that he was disembarking the captain and steamer Marta JunQuera at the port of Lastres, near Gijon. The Governor repeated lus protest at the seizure of the steamer and I demanded her return. The Konigsiberg did not reply. i RUSSIAN EXPORTS TO SPAIN (Received January 13, 7.30 p.m.) RIGA, January 12. Soviet exports to Spain have greatly increased. During October and November surplus tractors and spare parts amounting to 3363 tons went to Spain, in addition to quantities of tyres, petrol, and coal. Spain, is now second to Britain as the Soviet’s best customer ,
