PROFESSOR HENRY TONES

The death has occurred of Professor Henry Tonks. formerly Slade Professor of Fine Art in the University of London. [Professor Tonks was educated at Clifton College and London Hospital, from which he was elected a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. He resigned medicine and the teaching of anatomy, and gave himself up to painting and teaching drawing. He was the Slade Professor of Fine Art from 1917 to 1930, and when he retired in 1930 he was apoointed Emeritus professor. . He was an honorary fellow of University College, London.]

MR J. H. ANGUS

(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.) SYDNEY, January 11.

The death has occurred of Mr John Henry .Angus, a director of several companies and deputy president of the Royal Agricultural Society. He was born at Invercargill in 1875 and began his business career with the New Zealand and Australian Land Company on the Pareora station, . St. Andrews. His father, Mr James Angus, was originally a railway contractor in New Zealand.
