PORT OF GREYMOUTH [THE PRESS Special Service.] GREYMOUTH, January 8. Karu, proceeded from Bruce Bay to Westport to -load for Wellington, instead of calling at Greymouth, as the bar was not workable. She is expected to return to Greymouth on Wednesday next to lift her cargo of timber for Petone and Miramar. Kairniro is in the roadstead, and is still unable to enter because of the rough state of the bar. On arrival she will load for Auckland,' completing at Westport. Karepo left Auckland at 7 p.m. yesterday with cargo for Greymouth, and is to load here on Monday for Wellington. Kallngo is expected here on Wednesday next with cargo from ■ Sydney, and Newcastle. On completion of discharge she will load for Newcastle. Omana is expected to recommission at Auckland next Week, and will proceed to Bruce Bay to, load timber for Melbourne. She will complete at Greymouth for Melbourne and Adelaide on January 18. Hokitika is expected to leave Wellington to-day with general cargo for Greymouth and Hokitika. Huanui is to sail with coal for Poxton when the bar moderates. Waimea is due on Monday/from' Picton to load coal and timber for Picton. She will return on January 15 to load timber for Port Waikato. Rata is loading for Tarakohe and Wanganui and is to sail to-morrow morning. She will return on January 15 to load for Nelson and Wanganui. JAMES COOK FOR GREYMOUTH

With timber from New South Wales ports, the steamer James Cook reached Dunedin on Wednesday from .'Newcastle. After discharge there she will proceed to Greymouth to load for Sydney.

THE MAUI POM ARE DUE ON MONDAY AFTERNOON The Maui Pomare, en route from Apia and Niue, advises that she expects to arrive at Lyttelton on Monday afternoon. She is to sail on Tuesday for Wellington. TARANAKI ON COAST The Taranaki arrived at Gisborne at 6 a.m. on Thursday to commence Homeward loading. She is due to leave there, to-day for Auckland, and. will later complete at Opua, New Plymouth, and Wellington, for London. HISTORIC MOTOR-SHIP SOLD After 24 gears’ service, the Danish motor-ship Selandia, the first oceangoing Diesel oil-engine vessel ever built, has been sold by the East Asiatic Company of Copenhagen to Norwegian owners, who have renamed her Norseman. The Selandia, which was built in 1912 by Burmeister and Wain at Copenhagen, is a cargo and passenger motorship of 7400 tons deadweight capacity. The East Asiatic Company has placed an order with the Nakskov Shipbuilding Company for a new motor-ship of 10,000 tons deadweight and 16 knots,' which will be named Selandia,. to replace the old ship of that name in its fleet.

PORT OF WESTPORT [THE PRESS Special Service.] WESTPORT, January 8. Rata loads at Wellington on Tuesday for Westport and Greymouth, thence Nelson and Wanganui. Waimea Is an expected arrival from Nelson at the end of this ' week to load for Plcton via Greymouth. Kaitoa is an expected arrival from Nelson, about January 15 to load for Motueka. Karu, diverted from Bruce Bay, where she has been unable to enter owing to bad weather, is due here to-morrow morning to load for Wellington. Kaimai, with general cargo from Dunedin and Lyttelton, left Lyttelton at 10.30 p.m. yesterday via Wellington for Westport. She is loading further general cargo at Wellington, sailing at 1 p.m. to-mor-row from that port, and is due to load here on Monday with coal for Wellington. Kalmlro, from Greymouth, part-loaded, is due here on Monday to complete loading for Auckland. Poolta leaves Wellington at 1 p.m. tomorrow and loads here on Monday with coal for Napier and Wellington. Kartigi leaves Wellington to-morrow evening and loads here on Monday with coal, timber, and' general cargo for Wellington and Miramar.
