HOW GORDON SPENDS HIS HOLIDAY TIME
I am spending the holidays in tha garden. One can always find something to do there to pass away tha time. There is nothing so interesting as working in a garden and it helps one to learn about the different plants nature has provided for us.
Wfe must keep the hoe going to keep all the weeds down. Flowers are very interesting with all the different kinds and the different shades. One has to watch, to see that the flowers do not go to seed: I have a good show of sweet peas. I keep feeding the plants so I have flowers for some time to come. When the days are fine the white butterflies keep . one busy chasing them. . —GORDON WINTER. Fapanui. (A small prize to Gordon)
