THE CITY’S NEW WAR MEMORIAL.—Looking down on the massive base of the memorial shrine which is being erected in the Cathedral grounds. In the middle there is a solid block of concrete to carry the steel reinforcing mast 44ft high for the column and to give strength to the cross that will surmount the whole. The work will be finished in time for the next Anzac Day ceremonies.
