TROUT FISHING IN THE SOUTH ISLAND

Struthers urges aqy anglers who may have been disappointed with the results of a troutfishing holiday in New Zealand, and who may have made up their mind; never to be deceived again by 'the tempting stories published by New Zealand House," to return to the Dominion, and, ignoring the specious appeal of Taupo and Rotorua, hasten southwards across Cock Strait. "Fror.: Christchurch, priding herseif en her English atmosphere, you set cut by car with your camping gear in the back and your eyes turned toward? the Southern Al—" he writes. His article appears in the "Fishinc Gazette." He writes about facilities at Lake Lyndon, Lake Pearson. Lake Sarah, and Marymere. To any who may still hanker after the rainbow, however, Mr Struthers says:— "You have enly to walk less thai, a quarter of a mile to Lake Hcwderr. last but not the l?ast lovely link i:. this chain of highland lakes set hundreds of feet about worry level. a:vi all within a radius of 20 mile?. I: you wish it. you need scarcely sco another angler for the whole ler.g-':': of your visit: you are iir.mun: from the attacks of mesquitces. sar.drhes. and other pests which provoke even the mildest of men into harsh profanity; and you do not require the expensive license which is needed for the Taupo and Rotorua fishing.
