MEDITERRANEAN INTERESTS AGREEMENT REPORTED SATISFACTORY ARRANGEMENT ABOUT ABYSSINIA (EXITED PRESS ASSOCIATION'—( OUTRIGHT.. (Received December 20, 11.50 p.m.) LONDON, December 19. The “Daily Mail” says that after Signor Mussolini’s speech at Littoria it is learned that Britain and Italy have reached ,an agreement in principle. It is hoped to issue a communique early in 1937 setting out the views of both Governments that their Mediterranean interests do not conflict, and also that the status quo will be maintained. It is understood that a satisfactory arrangement has been reached concerning Italy’s Abyssinian conquest. “ITALIANS WILL GET WHAT THEY WANT” MUSSOLINI II EJECTS lIJEA Of PERPETUAL PEACE ROME, December 18. Signor Mussolini, speaking at Littoria, said: “The last year has proved that the Italians, will get what they want against any opposition. Some of our accounts still exist, but they can be settled by normal means. We desire a long period of peace, though we reject the idea of perpetual peace.” BRITISH POST OCCUPIED BY ITALIANS ROME, December IS. The Italians have occupied the British Customs House at Gambela, which controls traffic to the AngioEgyptian Sudan.
