HOLIDAY TRAFFIC FROM AUSTRALIA
BOOKINGS HEAVIEST FOR SEVERAL YEARS
(Received December 16, 10.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 16. Australians this year are flocking to New Zealand for the Christmas and New Year holidays. On four liners sailing between Friday and Christmas Day .more than 1500 passengers have booked. The Awatea and Maunganui, which will sail on Friday, will take 760 of these. The bookings are the heaviest for several years, in pleasant contrast to last December, when Tasman services were disorganised by the shipping strike.
