Mrs O’Boyle presided at the monthly meeting of the Domett Women’s Institute. Sympathy was expressed with the Childs’s in their sad bereavements. A brine-and-buy in aid of the health stamp campaign was held at the home of Mrs J. Fitzsimmons. Competitions for the afternoon were, won as follows;—rVase of flowers: Mrs J Fitzsimmons 1, Mys C. Denton 2, Mbs H. Denton 3, Christmas gift, not to cost more than 3 Mrs A. S. Murray 2, Miss M. O Boyle J. Hostesses fo'r the afternoon were Mrs H. Denton and Mrs J. Fitzsimmons.

WAIHAORUNGA

The last meeting of the year of the Waihaorunga Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs J. C. Hurst, with Miss M. Huyst presiding. Mrs J. C. Faulkner (Wihowbndge) gave an interesting demonstration on the icing of Christmas cakes. . During the afternoon a bnng-and-buy” sale was held in aid of the mSt Competition 3 res^ted:— Christmas novelty, Mrs T. A. Orville 1, Mesdames G. Cooling, A. Hurstmyi J. C. Hurst (equal) 2; specimen bloom, Mrs F Bursbn 1, Mrs A. Armstrong 2. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdaihes A, Armstrong, J. Baikie. and G. Cooling,

GLENTUNNEL

A well-attended meeting of the Glentunnel Women’s Institute was presided over by Mrs L. A. Marshall The meeting opened .with the singing of the institute sjbng. It was decided to hold the Christmas party next Tuesday. After the business was concluded, the remainder of the afternoon was spent with a social Members joined heartily in the community sing, led by Miss I. M. Giimour at the piano. Miss J. Barlow contributed a solo and Shirley Marsh clayed a pianoforte selection.

Mrs N. Bather, president, presided at the monthly meeting ‘of the Te Pirita Wcgnenjs Institute. Demonstrations on tapestry arm crochet tea cosies weoe given by Mrs GoatsWiOrth apd Mrs H, Donaldson. It, was decided toihbld a fancy dress Christmas tree party oh December’22 'for the children.
