STOCK SALES PLEASANT POINT A very wet day restricted the activities of buyers at the Pleasant Point stock sale yesterday. There were smaller entries than usual in most departments- but prices were well maintained at late rales, la the fat cattle section there was only a small entry, but the quality of the beasts forward was, taken all round, better than for some time. Best fat steers ranged up to £lO 7s 6d, best fat heifers up to £!t 7s 6d. and cows up to £8 10s. Because of the recent wet weather the small entry of store and dairy cattle sold extremely well, and there was a particularly good demand for bulls, the latter selling at varying prices up to £5 10s. In the fat sheep section the entries were small, bat shorn wethers were in good demand, and the prices were on a par wtlh recent rate?. A few pens of fat lambs were forward and made up to 24s a head. Some pens of ewes and lambs sold reasonably well. There was a smaller entry than usual tn the pig section, and prices were firm at late rates.
