SOUTH AFRICAN CENSUS
♦ WHITE POPULATION INCREASE! (Received November 15, 8.15 p.m.) JOHANNESBURG, November 14. Census figures show that South Africa’s population is now 9,500,000, an increase of 2,500,000 since 1921. The white population is now 2,000,000, an increase of 500,000. MUSSOLINI’S SON AS FILM DIRECTOR ♦ (Received November 15, 8.50 p.m.) ROME, November 14. Signor Mussolini’s eldest son, Vittorio, is planning to enter the film business, beginning as assistant director of a new flying picture, after which he may receive a Government appointment to take charge of Italian film production.
