MODEL YACHTING

CHRISTCHURCH CLUB’S RACE The Christchurch Model Yacht Club started the race for the club championship on Saturday at Victoria Lake, and 14 boats entered. As this number was too many to send away together, qualifying heats were run in two sections, two heats each section and the first four boats in each section qualified to sail in the finals. The wind was fresh from the north. Following were the results; — Section A—First heat: W. S. Kingston’s Sans Atout 1, E. Hodge’s Kea 2, B. Wall's Mite 3, H. J. Bowlker’s Tuna 4, R. Reid's Gwalia 5. Time, 25min 20sec. Second Heat—Sans Atout 1, Gwalia 2. Kea 3, Tuna 4. Mite 5. Time. 28min 20sec. Section B—First heat—R. C. Munro's Dolphin 1, C. White’s Laura 2, E. Hodge's Linnet 3, W. Beauchamp's Avenger 4, R. Reid's Spalpeen 5. Time, 25min.
