Mr R. A. Campbell returned to Christchurch from the north yesterday morning. Professor G. S. Peren, principal of the Massey Agricultural College, arrived in Christchurch from the north yesterday morning. Lieutenant-Colonel O. H. Mead, of the headquarters staff of the Defence Department, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning. Mr H. K. Tait left for Wellington last evening on a business trip.

Mr L. J. Wild, of Feilding, president of the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning. The Rt. Rev. W. A, R. Fitchett, Bishop of Dunedin, who. combines his episcopal office with that of vicar of St. John’s Church, Roslyn, has completed 25 years in the parish. The silver jubilee of his induction will be celebrated when Mrs Fitchett returns from England at the end of this month.

Mr C. W. Hervey was re-elected president of the Canterbury Employers’ Association at the first meeting of the new executive last evening, and Messrs J. Murphy and A. E. Kincaid vicepresidents. Messrs Hervey and Murphy were appointed delegates to represent the association at the annual conference of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation, to be held in Wellington next week.
