The results of further matches played In the first and second rounds of the Canterbury University College lawn tennis championships for 1937 are:— Men’s Singles—First round: J. D. Coward beat J. S. Campbell, and N. H. Buchanan beat K. S. Jameson by default. Second round: W, K. DougaU beat M. Heenan by default.
Men’s Doubles—First round: I. J. Corlch and B. D. Duffleld beat L. White and A. G. Hunter, 6-2, 6-3. - Mixed Doubles—First round: Miss E. Inwood anp J. S. Campbell beat Miss M. Browne and N. H, Buchanan, 6-2, 8-6. Women’s Singles—First round: Miss M. Biggar beat Miss N. Freeman, 4-6,0-3,6-4; Miss B. Ackroyd beat Miss R. Barnes, 8-6, 6-0; Miss B. Nurse beat Miss S. KingMason, 6-5, 6-4; Miss L. Manning bee* Miss J. Freeman, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3’.
