DUNEDIN, Octob*3 Mr John Archibald Duncan M died at his resit" c”ce in Roalytfl day in his ninety.-—d year. Mr £■ was born in Scotland in 1844. aa&| the eldest son of Mr John Hj Adams, who came to New Ze*Rß|j the ship Blundell, which, command of Captain William JaM arrived in Port Chalmers on S#l her 21, 1848. Mr J. A. D. Adams was one m two survivors of the 152 p4f|Hij who arrived by the Blundell, thej| being Mrs A. Fraser, erf ThiMX«| Adams was about 27 year* M before he was in a position to jH his attention to the legal .prafU with which he was associated fin remainder of his life. He was injl tice at Port Chalmers for sever*|J| but in 1883 he was joined by afn brother, the Hon. A. S. Adam** ! a judge of the Supreme Court m 3 Zealand, and the well-known §m Adams Brothers with offices -atj Chalmers and Dunedin, was Ushed. The partnership was in (H ence till 1910, when Mr J. A. D. A| retired from practice. The ftW Adams Brothers is still sm istence, but the practice is noON ried on by two sons of Mr • Adams, Mr P. B. secutor at Dunedin) and Mr m Adams.
