SAVOLDI BEATS DAVIS BY TWO FALLS TO ONE

WANGANUI, October 7. In a bout marked by a good deal of action and showmanship, Joe Savoldi beat "Wee Willie" Etetvifi at Wanganui to-night by two to one. The contest went to the seventh round.

Davis gained a fall in the fourth round. Savoldi, after a series of dropkicks and flying butts, equalised in the sixth round. In the seveifth round, Davis came out apparently groggy and lasted 18 seconds, Savoldi drop-kicking him twice and then driving home a body press.

MCCREADY OUTPOINTS PENCHEFF

TIMARU, October 71 Earl McCready to-night beat George Penchefl on points over eight rounds before the largest house seen at Timaru. The bout was a most disappointing one, there being very little solid wrestling and a preponderance of showmanship. The pair were not well matched, McCready carrying his opponent throughout.

BLOMFIELD BEATS KRUSE

In a professional wrestling bout, Blomfleld beat Kruse, the contest coming to an end early in the eighth round, when Kruse crawled out under the ropes and lay prone while the referee counted, him out. Blomfleld In the previous round had secured a fall with an octopus clamp, and Kruse was assisted to his corner. Kruse In the fourth round had obtained a fall by means of wristlocks and a body press.

GEORGE AND PENCHEFF TO MEET

Ed Don George, former heavy-weight wrestling champion of ‘ the world, whose services could be secured for New Zealand only on the basis of a substantial guarantee, will open rhe South Island portion of his career with a match against George Penchefl at the Theatre Royal this evening. Bookings for this bout have been very heavy.
