AUTHORITY FOR RAISING MONEY

WELLINGTON. 'October 7.

The Motueka Harbbur Board Amendment Bill, introduced in the House of Representatives this afternoon by Mr K. J. Holyoake (Nat., Motueka), extends the powers of the Motueka Harbour Board to raise money for harbour works. These works have already been authorised for construction. In addition to previous authorisations, the board is empowered to borrow not more than £SOOO on work designed to restore and improve the channel entrance to the Motueka harbour.

There are other minor provisions.
