(Received October 6, 12.5 a.m.)
LONDON, October 5
The Manchester correspondent of the“ Daily Telegraph” says manufacturers are concerned because substantial Empire orders fc* tipn flags have been placed with Japanese instead of British makers. A representative of one firm said Japanese Union Jacks were selling in. §outh Africa below the Englisn cost of production. The idea of Bri,tish children celebrating the Coronation waving Japanese flags was distasteful.
Manchester has already shipped the first consignment of Coronation flags to the Dominions.
