A Hall Needed in opening the spring flower show of the Diamond Harbour-Purau garden circle at Diamond Harbour on Saturday afternoon/ Mr L< 8., Hart, one of the judges, spoke of the need of a public hall for Diamond Harbour. He said that although it,was the first flower show to be held there, the only building available was not large enough. He urged residents to endeavour to obtain a hall for such functions, and for meetings and dances. He understood that the Lyttelton Borough Council had suitable sites available, and he hoped when he next visited Diamond Harbour to judge a spring flower show, it would be neld in a new hall. , . Go** The final of the senior championship' of the Diamond Harbour Golf ClUb was played yesterday over 38 holes between E, S. Morse, last, year’s winner, and P. Qilmour. The match resulted in a win for Gilmour, 7 and 6. In a medal match held by the Lyttelton Golf Club at Chaxteris Bay yesterday the three best cards were: — C. Pascoe 94, 17—77, F. H. Knights 88, 10—78. H. Derbidge 97, 18—79. Old-time Dance A further successful old-time dance was held by the committee of the West Lyttelton School in the Excelsojr' Hall on Saturday night. Dance music was supplied by the Erica Orchestra, extras being played by Mrs R, T. Ings. Prizes for first couples On the floor were won by Mr S. Buchanan and Mrs M. A. Ryder, and Mr B. Demichelli and Mrs M. Scott. Mr W. Whitford and Mrs M. Barnes won the eighth heal in the Monte Carlo waltz competition and the final was won by Mr and Mrs B. J. Graham:
