Shase'transactions involve at least' ’£.'Bo,ooo, were mentioned when Osmond Arthur Bridgewater, sharebroker, pf Hereford street, appeared in the Ma .strata’s Court before Mr E. C. Levvey, S,M., yesterday morning: Bridgewater was charged with going from house to house at Oamaru on November 1, 1935, offering shares for subscription or purchase in the Australasian Investment Corporation, Ltd., a company incorporated in New Zealand, to certain .members of the public, de-benture-holders in the Investment Ex-ecutive-Trust, Ltd. The ; charge was brought under the Companies Act, 1933. ' Mr R. A, Young; who appeared for informant parties, asked for a remand. In asking for bail for accused, Mr SLA. Lee said Bridgewater was a resident ot Christchurch arid had his business here, and had no intention of "leaving. He had occasionally been to Australia, hut had not been away for two years. Mr Young said that on the result of this action other .actions would depend. Share transactions involving £BO,OOO sft least were concerned. Mr Lee protested that £BO,OOO was sheer exaggeration, but the magistrate said the amount did not concern him at the moment. Bridgewater was remanded until October 15, bail being allowed at £SOO, with a surety of £SOO, He was ordered to report daily to the police.
