BOXING AT RAKAIA

ASSOCIATION ARRANGES BOUTS Mr D. Lynch presided over a meeting of the Bakaia Boxing Association. Final-arrangements were made for the professional bout between Bill Carey and Les. Adams. The following amateur bouts were arranged:—D. Eddington v. D. McLeod; S. Hogue v. J. Thwaites; A. Graib v. J. Kelly; D. McGirr v. J. Mitchell; J. Sullivan v. S. Guthrie. It was reported that five trophies had been given for the amateur bouts. Domain Board Mr B. McNamara presided over a meeting of the South Bakaia Domain Board, An inspection of the domain was made, and it was decided to have the buildings painted, to erect a shelter lor coppers, and to have various other repairs carried out. Bead Board The monthly meeting of the South Bakaia Road Board was held on Thursday, with Mr H. A. Harrison presidfeie report said that the metalling of A. V. Richards’s road had begun and that a start had been made with the clearing of the reserve on the threechain road. Grading had been continued in various parts of the district, and general maintenance work had been done in the township. Receipts since last meeting amounted to £426. ;!8s 4d, and after payment Of accounts amounting to £352 10s lid there would be a credit balance of £3BO fls:7d."
