THE TRAMWAY ELECTION
TO THE EDITOR OP THE PRESS. Sir,—The letter of “S.” in to-day’s issue of “The Press” does not call for much comment. My previous letter was really a questionnaire addressed to the present Labour members of the Tramway Board. I asked some specific questions of gentlemen who were either Labour candidates at the last Tramway Board election or who are at present members of the board. I quoted the ’words of those gentlemen and asked them to square their promises and - statements of three years ago with their record on the Tramway Board for the last three years. ;My antagonist, “S.” has no right or qualification to speak for these men., I hsive criticised them; it is for them to .’reply. If, as is the rule, they bury themselves in mulish silence; the public will not misunderstand. They will know that Labour will not misunderstand because it cannot. In the meantime ! await a reply to my questions from Messrs Archer, Parlane, Mathison, and Manning and ask them to teply to the perfectly pertinent questions I put to them. — Yours, etc., . REMEMBRANCER. October 2,1936^.
