TO-MORROW’S PROGRAMME v % ,*- f » The Methven Trotting Club’s annual meeting will be held to-morrow, and with every-prospect of fine weather and a fast track the racing should be interesting. The fields in all the events are of good average size .and quality is well represented. A special train will leave Christchurch at 9.5 am. and will return- from Methven at 5.10 pjn. The win and place system of betting will be in operation. The day’s programme is as follows: —

Lord Ernleigh has a lot of speed,’and while Royal Parrish is set to give away 60 yards he is one to be considered, Fantine and Burlesque may prove the best of the remainder, but the leaders at the finish may be Gay - Crusader, Lord Ernleigh; and Royal Parrish.

Pot Luck, in his best form, is entitled to favouritism, but Chechahco has shown a return to ■ his best, and the distance will suit him. Golden Cross is in nice order and Plain Pearl may show improvement on her previous best. Fairhaven and Morello - are fancied in certain quarters, but the places should be filled by Chechahco, Pot Luck, and Plain Pearl.
