BILLIARDS v C. E. Brown was the winner of the Lyttelton Club’s weekly flying-fifty billiards tournament on Monday night. He defeated V. Duff in the final. Nuisance to be Stopped The: attention of the Borough Council has been called by Cr.. R. E. Calms to the nuisance occasionally caused by the council’s steam -truck in. blowing thie boiler tubes in the street The operation is said to cause a shower of fine soot and grit which covers the neighbourhood. Instructions have been given that the practice must be avoided. ■
