BRITISH-ISRAEL WORLD FEDERATION
VISIT OF DR. W. P. GOARD Dr. W. Pascoe Goard, author, world traveller, and lecturer on world affairs, addressed two meetings at the Regent Theatre yesterday, under the auspices of the local branch of the British-Israel World Federation. In the afternoon his subject was “The Present International Situation,” and in the evening, “The British Empire in the Light of - Prophecy.” He said he was not attempting in his lectures to prove the physical descent of the Anglo-Saxons from Israel. That had been done in the literature of his federation. What he wanted to do was to show the responsibilities that fell upon British people as God’s chosen people; to show the way out of economic depression and the international tangle: to hearten British people with a view of what was in store for them and the world when, as he shortly expected, the end of a great “seyen times” period of punishment for Israel’s sins was ended.
He claimed that if only British people would repent nationally they need not fear the coming trials the world would see. As members of the chosen race they had the responsibility of being a blessing to all the peoples of the world, and only through them would those blessings come. He insisted throughout that the Bible was true, and that its prophecies had been amply fulfilled. The lecturer was listened to by large audiences with marked attention. At the afternoon meeting the Mayor (Mr J V/. Beanland) presided, and at the evening meeting Colonel G. J. Smith was in the chair.
