TASMAN CUP TEAM ARRIVAL IN SYDNEY (UNITBiD PBE9B iSSOCUTIOM —COPTBTQHT.) (Received August 12, 12.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, August 11. The New Zealand Tasman Cup team of five players, and the manager, Mrs M. H. Godby, who arrived by the Marama to-day. were officially welcomed and entertained by the Australian Golf Club. The visitors were motored to the various metropolitan courses, and left by train to-night for Melbourne to play a match against Victoria on Thursday. They will continue the journey to Adelaide the same night, where they will practise for the Australian championships, which begin at Seaton on August 24. . „ . The order in which the New Zealanders will play in the Tasman Cup matches will depend on their performances in the Australian championships.

The Royal and Ancient Championship Committee announces that the amateur championship in 1937 will be played at the Royal St. George’s Club. Sandwich, on May 24. The open championship will be played at Carnoustie on July 5. These dates will permit the British and United States players to compete in the championships of both countries. BELGIAN TITLE BRUSSELS, August 10. Boyer won the Belgian Golf Championship with a score of 285. Cotton was second with 286. AMURI LADIES’ CLUB Last week’s bogey competition was won by Mrs G. Reid with a score of 8 down. Other scores were Miss Mcßride 9 down and Mrs M. Bethell 10 down. HORORATA CLUB In tfie second round of the Godfrey Hall Championship' Cup, played an “Terrace Station” links, D. Tweedle beat T. A Charles and T. E. Pearson beat S. J. Hunt. In the Albert Charles Cup F. S. Barrett beat W. O. Gray and A. D. Oliver beat A. Charles. ; AKAROA CLUB The second round of the Waddell Cup competition was played on the Akaroa links, when Mrs G. L 6 Lievre and W. B. Ramsay, with a final score of Y up (3 up In the first round and 4 up In the second round), were the winners of the cUp. 1. Penllngton and V. Brocherle, with a score of 6 up. won Mr and Mrs C. S. Hardy’s trophy for the best card in the second round.
