McClymont, of the staff of the Otago Boys’ High School, who is °n exchange on the staff of the Royal High School, Edinburgh, will return to Dunedin early next year. Mr A. G. Homer, of Dunedin, has received advice that his son, Mr A. J. Homer, who is in London studying the latest methods m heating and ventilating, has passed his examination m these subjects with first-class honours. I.he examination was set by the Institute of Heatin„ and Ventilating Engineers and the London and City Guild. Mr C. E. Jones, who recently returned from a trip to England, is at present on a visit to Christchurch.

• Mr C. W.. Collins, librarian at Canterbury University College, has received advice from the (British) Library Association that he has been elected to fellowship of the association. Mr Collins thus becomes one of a very smail number in New Zealand to gain this distinction, entitling the use of the letters F.L.A. Mr A. Vicary Hunter, formerly of the New Zealand Air Force, has resigned his position as chief engineer to the Anglo-Iranian Oil Cornmany to take up a short service commission in the Royal Air Force. Mr Hunter formerly lived at Spreydon.

Cr. M. E. Lyons and Cr. T. Milliken were appointed last night by the City Council to represent it at the annual conference of the Power Boards’ and Electrical Supplies’ Association, to be held in Wellington towards the end of this month.

The Hon. M. Connelly, M.L.C., left Greymouth for Christchurch last night by the rail car.
