EXPENDITURE OP £4OOO

WORK APPROVED BY COUNCIL

The sum of £4OOO is included on the Cits” Council’s estimates this year for tar-sealing, and last night the council approved a list of streets on which work will be done. The list submitted to the council last night by its work committee was prepared with due consideration to the distribution of the work throughout the city, the traffic carrifl by the road, the sealing already done in the locality, the number of bouses in the streets, and to some extent the amount of rates paid. If Peterborough and Chester streets are done this year, it will complete the long streets inside the belts, although there are still a large numol smaller streets to be done.
