CANDIDATES IN BOARD
ELECTION
Nominations for the election of members of the Christchurch Technical College Board of Governors closed on Saturday. Two members have been elected unopposed, but an election will have to be held to determine the representation of employers and of local bodies, for each of which groups there are two candidates.
In the election of a member to represent associations of employers Mr B. Seth Smith, the sitting member, and Mr J. Buchanan have been nominated. The election will be held on Thursday at 2,30 p.m. For local body representative Mr D. Rowse, the sitting member, is opposed by Mr G. Manning, these beling the only candidates. The election will be held on Wednesday at i 2,30 p.m. Nominations of Trades i Union candidates will be received at | a meeting on Tuesday night, when the election ox this member will im- ! mediately follow the nominations. 1 Two members have been elected j unopposed. Mr t. W. West was reelected as representative of the school committees, and Mr S. R. Evison was elected as representative of parents and pupils in place of Mr G. E. Franklin, who has retired from the board.
