GUN DOG TRIAL
NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP DECIDED The Canterbury Qun Dog Club conducted the first New Zealand championship gun dog trial heltj in the Dominion during the week-end on Mrs! Watson’s property at Courtenay. , Conditions in both the land and water sec*lions were very difficult. Mr Prcbert, of Hastings, acted as judge, and his decisions were received with appreciation by the 150 spectators and competitors. The event attracted 14 entries, and except for the placed dogs, the performances Were not outstanding, Messrs Turner and Fisher Were official guns, and their shooting was particularly good. The placings were:—
