SITTING OF BOARD CONCLUDED
War Pensions Appeal Board for gjjjjrtaay and the West Coast, which a sitting on June 8, concluded Erday after hearing 100 appeals K provisions the legislation last year governing war penid veterans' allowances. The wasted of Sir Walter Stringer, J. Orchard, and Dr. P. A.
Of the appeals, 33 concerning war P<m.»dnn<n were allowed and 34 dismissed. Thirteen war veterans’ allowance appeals were upheld and 14 dismissed, and six were deferred so that the appellants could bring further evidence. Mr E. F. WiUcox, secretary of the Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association, acted as advocate for 81 of the appellants. Many of the appeals were claims for recognition, apart from assessment, pnd in these evidence was sometimes difficult to obtain.
