FAMOUS DANCER COMING Considerable interest nas been created by the announcement that La Meri, the celebrated international dancer, is to tour New Zealand. She will open her Christchurch season at the Theatre Royal on August 1, for five nights only. La Meri, who is a Spanish-American, comes to New Zealand with a wonderful reputation gained in some 24 countries where she has appeared. In Melbourne, as in every other country visited, La Meri created a sensation, and has danced before packed houses and enthusiastic audiences. She will come to New Zealand at the conclusion of the Melbourne season, and will then return to visit the other Australian cities. It was during her record London season that La Meri signed a contract to tour New Zealand under the direction of Mr A. D; M. Longden, who brought Mr John Brownlee to New Zealand a few years ago.
