NEW THEATRE IN SYDENHAM

The building which has been known for years as the King’s Theatre, in Colombo street. Sydenham, is' now being demolished. In its nlace a concrete theatre is to be built. The building was the first Presbyterian Church in Sydenham. It was built in 1880 at a cost of £2300. On December 26 of that year it was opened. The first minister was the Rev. T. R. Cairns. The church was sold early in 1911. The work of destruction is well in hand. *

To complete the demolition and put up the new building will be a work of some months.
