COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE trails AiifociAnow PALMERSTON N., June 10. Arising from an incident at the Shannon railway station on May 30, Rawiri Makarika was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with robbing William de Ridder, of £7 10s, also with using personal violence. The accused pleaded guilty, and wag committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. De Ridder gave evidence that he had been talking to the accused and another man, and had given both of them money when they said they had none. Afterwards both accosted him and said they did not want the money. They talked for some time. Then the accused struck him on the face, knocking him out. When he came to an hour and a half later, he found that his jaw was broken, and that he had been robbed.
