OBITUARY

MR R. J. HURST

Thj death occurred suddenly early yesterday -morning at his residence, 175 Redruth avenue, Spreydon, of Mr Robert James Hurst. Mr Hurst, who was in his fifty-eighth year, has for many years been a member of the advertising setting staff of “The Press,” and in this capacity he earned the deep respect of his fellow workers. He had been in indifferent health ror some months. Mr Hurst was born in London in 1879, and became apprenticed to the printing trade at an early age. He was employed on the staff of Cassell and Company, Ludgate Circus, London, where he remained till 1908. He travelled to New Zealand shortly afterwards, and for more than 20 years he has been on the advertising setting staff of “The Press,” although for a short period he was employed on the staff of the “Sun,” in Christchurch.

Mr Hurst is survived by his wife, Mrs Annie A. Hurst, a daughter, Mrs Rowntree, of Christchurch, and a son, Mr Frank Hurst, of Wanganui.
