EARLY VISIT TO NEW GUINEA

(I’BCSS iSSOCUVJOH TKI.EGKAM.) AUCKLAND, June 8. Returning from deputation work in England, the Rt. Rev. W. H. Baddeley. Bishop of Melanesia, was a passenger by the Aorangi. accompanied by his wife, and will remain in New Zealand for 10 days. At an early date Bishop Baddeley will visit New Guinea. He said that the tribes were now reported to be more friendly towards the white man. With the opening up of goldfields and increasing air transport, the hinterlands were being gradually opened up, and the white population was rapidly increasing.
