WRESTLING
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —I tuned in to Radio Station 2KY, Sydney, to-night (Saturday) and heard the wrestling bout between Tom Lurich and Douglas Clarke for the British Empire ■ heavy-weight title. Douglas Clarke, whom the announcer said was the title-holder, was beaten by two falls to one by Lurich, who now becomes the British Empire titleholder. If this is the case, where does McCready come in? There cannot be a title-holder in New Zealand as well as Australia. There have been several claimants to this honour, namely, George Walker, Peter Venter, Earl McCready, and Douglas Clarke, and it now seems as if the title belongs to anyone who cares to claim it. Until there is a definite holder, it is useless to proclaim one. Who is the real holder? I trust someone in the know will let the wrestling world have the answer to this muchdiscussed question.—Yours, etc., SOLUTION. May 30, 1936.
