SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Mr and Mrs Maurice Fleming, who were the guests of Mrs Flamank (Highfield), have returned to Christchurch. Mrs Guinness (“The Bungalow,” Wai-iti road) left yesterday for a visit to Sydney, where she will spend the winter months. Mrs Lawrie and Miss Joy Lawrie have returned from Christchurch. Miss Edith Huddleston, who has been staying with her mother at “Cadogan,” Sefton street, left yesterday on her return to the North Island. Miss Traill (Ounstan Downs, Kurow) has returned from a visit to Mrs V. Wlgley, “Opuha Lodge,” Park lane. Mrs J. C. Guinness (Ealing) has returned after a visit to her mother, Mrs Edgar Jones (“Otiritiri”). Mias Beverley Horricks (Dunedin) is the guest of Mrs James Wilson, Sefton street. DANCE AT HORNBY There was a large attendance of dancers when the third grade team of the Hornby Rugby League Club held a dance in the Orange Hall at Hamby. Music was played by the Ambassadors’ band and Mr F. Stewart carried out the duties of master of ceremonies. The fund for the team’s lour of the West Coast benefited considerably.
