LONDON, May 5. Mrs Amy Mollison, who left yesterday on an attempt on the Lon-don-Cape Town record, arrived at Oran at 4.5 p.m. local time. Leaving there at 6.36 p.m., she crossed the Sahara by moonlight and reached Gao, on the southern edge of the desert, at 4 45 a.m., and at Niamey at 6.30 am. H L. Brook, holder of the Aus-tralia-England solo flight record, also set out yesterday on a flight to tlie Cape, intending to demonstrate the capabilities of light aeroplanes. He is flying a Hillson-Praga. He left Leeming aerodrome just after 2.30 p.m. [The Hillson-Praga is one of the light aeroplanes which are now becoming popular in England. It is a twoseater high wing cabin monoplane and has a 40 horse-power engine. The retail price in Britain is £385. a f ia ,. * petrol consumption of 33 miles to the gallon is claimed.]
