BLENHEIM NEWS
A gift party was given by Mesdames A. M. R. Mills and W. Fairweather at the home of Mrs Mills, the guest of honour being Miss Joyce Girling, whose marriage will take place shortly. Miss Girling received a card table and box of cards for her new home.
Tea was served in the drawing-room, which was effectively decorated With bowls of chrysanthemums. , During the afternoon songs were sung by Misses Girling, V. Andrews, Cecily Mills, Jean Stewart, and J. Eckford, and a pianoforte duet was played by Mrs C. W. Parker and Miss Sheila Parker. _ Those present were Mesdames F. Gane, C. W. Parker, A. J.'Mills, E. Parker. A. Wanden, Dickie, A. S. Jackson, W J. Girling, A. Adams, F. W. Mogridge, Misses B. Gane, J. L. and D. Rose, Jean Stewart, V. Andrews, C. and G- Mills. J. Eckford, M. Graham, C. and E. Mills, J. Jordan, M. Tylor, O. Organ, and S. Parker. Miss V. Ward is visiting Wellington. Mrs M. B. Hope (The Tummil), who has been staying with her sister, Mrs A. A. Macnab, has returned home. . Mrs A. J. Murray (Woodbank), who has been visiting.Christchurch, has returned home. Mrs A. Rittson-Thomas (Tirimanga), who has been spending a few days at Blenheim, has returned home. Mrs Beaumont, who has been the guest of Mrs T. Renwick (Dumgree), has returried home. . Mrs W. B. Stevenson (Upcot) has returned from a visit to Wellington. . Mr and Mrs Lewis Clouston left durtog the week for Dashwood, where they will make their home.
