Regent Theatre A beautifully acted and moving drama is "The Passing of the Third Floor Back," which will be presented | to-morrow afternoon and evening at the Regent Theatre, Rangiora. Although this picture is something in the nature of a challenge to discriminating filmgoers, it is splendid entertainment. Conrad Veidt has one of his most remarkable roles as the Stranger, the curious and somewhat ethereal figure who comes to the boardinghouse, quietly straightening out the tangle of jealousy and suspicion which exists in that rather pitiful social battleground. It is a gripping film of human emotions packed with dramatic highlights providing unforgettable entertainment. Dashiell Hammett has turned out another fascinating mystery story, full of amazing situations and delightful comedy. It is "Mr Dynamite," starring Edmund Lowe and Esther Ralston, which will be presented on Thursday evening. "Mr Dynamite" is one of the best bafflers of the year, and with Lowe playing the dynamic, roguish detective, it takes on a most delightful air. The picture fully deserves its title, inasmuch as it packs a punch in thrills and excitement. Seats may be reserved at .Watson's, telephone* 202.
