WEST OF ENGLAND SOCIETY

The fortnightly social of the West of England Society, held in the Orange Hall, was an unqualified success. The attendance was excellent, and many new friends were cordially welcomed by the president, Mr P. E. L. Broad. In his presidential remarks, Mr Broad stated that although Mr A. Shimmer was still in hospital, his condition was showing a decided improvement. Vocal items were contributed by Mr A. Gallagher. During the evening prizes were won as follows: —Monte Carlo, Mr A. Brice and Miss D. Brice; lucky spot, Mr A. Brimblecombe and Miss J. Maxwell: lucky entrance, Mr A. Brice and Miss M. Swords. The music was supplied by the Excelsior Dance Band.
