CENSUS FIGURES INCREASE IN BLENHEIM BOROUGH [THE PRESS Special Service.] BLENHEIM, April 16. The recent census discloses that there is a decrease in population over the whole Marlborough district," but an increase in the Blenheim borough and suburbs. The Blenheim borough population is now 5045 (2461 inales and 2566 females). The Maori population,, in the borough is 18 (11 males "and seven females). The figures for the Blenheim suburbs are: Springlands 279, Farnham .549. Riverlands and Redwoodtown 735, total 1563. Thetotal for tha Blenheim district is 6608. Thgre has been a large increase in tbe P9P**‘ lation of the suburbs, the incr»se over the 1926 census being 415. The tow population in the Marlborough county is 7519 (3889 males and 3334 females). The Maori peculation is 296 (161 ntfies and 135 females). The total Potion for the whole Marlborough cen sus district is 12,833 (Europeans I*4*®. and Maoris 344).
