QUEST FOR HUSBAND
I ♦ 1 LONDON GIRL MAY COME TO NEW ZEALAND (press association telegram.) DUNEDIN, April 16. The arbitrary enlistment of the services of the Mayor, the Rev, E. T. Cox, to find a New Zealand husband for a London girl may terminate in the latter getting her desired husband shortly. Before Christmas the Mayor received a letter from an English girl, who asked that he should provide the names and addresses of any young men will- , ing, after correspondence, to marry j her and bring herself and her mother i to New Zealand. Press publicity re- 1 suited in the Mayor receiving letters : from eligible men in many parts of ' the Dominion, which he forwarded to : his leap-year correspondent. Now he has had a further letter : from the young woman, announcing that she has written to one correspondent suggesting that he should re-1
imburse the Mayor for the cost °fchis cablegram. She adds that if he dc** not she will have to find the nt*® 8 # herself. --
