APPEAL TO CITY FIRMS
FUNDS FOR OLYMPIC TEAM LARGE SUM STILL TO BE FOUND With considerably more than £2OO yet to be found, it appears that the committee organising the Olympic Games appeal fund may have to seek guarantees for a fairly large amomit. The full sum has to be in the hands of the Olympic Games Association in Wellington by Monday next, April 20. Letters have now been sent to big firms in the city asking for support. Already the employees of some firms have taken up collections and given generously, and it is hoped that others may follow suit. Official collectors are to be appointed and they will probably continue at work next week. The organising committee will meet
DANCE AT NORTH BEACH The North Beach Surf and Tennis Clubs will hold a combined dance in the North Beach Hall to-morrow evening in support of the fund for Giles and Boot.
