$ officers' elected for tsar The annual meeting of the Ashburton branch o£ the Christchurch Hunt Club was held last evening with Mr J. H. Grigg, president, presiding. . The balance-sheet showed that the year began with a credit of £7O UMd and ended with a credit of During the season £2O had beenpaid to the Christchurch Hunt Club as part of the gift for the previous season. - The profit from the point-to-pomt ‘ meeting was shown as £34 0s 44 . The annual report said that six. meets were held during the season, neartlte end of which the club had to forgo some hunts because of an accident to the huntsman, Mr J. H. Selby. The annual point-to-point steeplechase meeting was again an unqualified Succfs* record entries having been received , for all events. i The following officers were elected: President, Mr J. H. Grigg; vice-presi-dent, Messrs J. T. Thomas, H. Morris, and E. B. Newton; deputyrnsafter, Mr J. H, Grigg; committee, Mesdames L R. Clarke, G. Bead, A.. J. NteoU, Miss A. Lemon, Messrs J. C. Irwin, T* J. Lemon, C. G. C. Harper, O; N. Gngg. W. Z. D. Ferriman, F. Fox, J. iysagM, M, Farrell, J. C. Guinness, L.J. Fecbney, A. Bray, P. Harper, F..:Curtis,-.B-Hefford, J. Lewis, A. J. Nicoli, R Sutherland, P. S. Bontfant, H. McElrea, 1 W. Lemon; field secretary, Mr Fernman; field committee. Messrs. 4. Lysaght, M. Farrell, W. Lem®, Wd-J-Lewis; auditor, Mr Lewis; henwery secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Retford. It was decided to hold the opening meet on April 29, and to hold further meets on May 28 and 30. A motion to hold the point-to-point steeplechase meeting again this year was carried unanimously. , , Mr F. B. Robilliard was thanked, for his gift of a trophy to be won outright at the point-to-point steeplechase. The committee was recommenced to offer a trophy to the Ashburton;Aim* cultural and Pastoral Association, for a dual jumping competition for any members of a recognised hunt club 8* the Diamond Jubilee Show. A tribute was paid to the valuable services given by the retiring deputymaster, Mr A. J. Nicoli.
