ACCIDENTS
MAN KNOCKED DOWN WHILE CRANKING CAR [THE PRESS Special Service] AUCKLAND, April 15.; Knocked down by a motor-car he had cranked while it was in gear, Basil Law Montgomery, an engineer, employed by the Public Works Department, was injured, severely shortly after 8.30 this evening. Montgomery was admitted to the Auckland Hospital with extensive injuries to the head, and was suffering from shock. His condition at a late hour was very serious. The vehicle ran down the roaa for some distance before mourning the footpath and crashing into a Mick fence. WOMAN FATALLY INJURED (PEISS ASBOCH.TIOK TBLKOBAM.) AUCKLAND, April 15. Struck by a motor-car in Khyber Pass to-night, Mrs May Clark, 76, a widow, suffered severe injuries and died later in hospital. She ing t the road when she was knocked down.
