DANCE AT KIRWEE

j An enjoyable dance, organised by the ;Kirwee Plunket Society, was held in the Agricultural and Pastoral Association's hall. An energetic committee had made complete arrangements to ensure the comfort of the guests. The hall and supper room were decorated with bawls of flowers and. autumn foliage, and streamers helped to give a carnival appearance. Novelty dances were won by Miss M. Youngman and Mr C. Redfern, Miss' Irvine and Mr L. Westwood. Dance music was played by Bradford's orchestra, and Messrs G. B. Bedford and N. Wilson were masters of ceremonies. Those present included Mr and Mrs H. C. PLUNKET SOCIETY

The monthly committee meeting of the Opawa-St. Martins sub-branch of the Plunket Society was held at the home of Mrs D. E. Hansen, with Mrs Newburgh presiding over a good attendance. Nurse Harman's report for Opawa was as follows: Visits to homes, five old cases and 19 new cases; visits to rooms, adults 48, babies 47, and one older child. Nurse Bowron reported that in the St. Martins district, 68 adults, 67 babies, and 11 older children had visited the rooms. The treasurer reported the receipt of £3 8s in donations and £3 18s 6d for annual subscriptions. The resignations of Mrs R. Roberts as vicepresident, and Mrs H. Monro were received, and accepted with regret. It was decided to hold a jumble sale early in May. The annual meeting of the subbranch will be held in St. Mark's schoolrom on Thursday, April 23.
