The annual Wainui School picnic was held on the Wainui Domain. There was a large gathering of residents and visitors from the surrounding - bays and from Akaroa I

Consolation race: Tommy Robinson 1, Colin Stewart 2, Martin Skipper 3. , Afterwards an adjournment was made, to the hall, where lunch was served, and the prizes obtained during the year for good progress were presented to the following by the Rev. H. Nelson Wright:— Standard VI.: Percina Robinson, Jean Tikao, lan Macphail. Standard V.: Sylvia Macphail, Ivan Humm, Becky Robinson. Standard IV: Marjorie Idle, Naomi Robinson, Dick Wright, Bruce Macphail. Standard in.: Beryl Idle, Bean Timothy, John Bright. John Wright, Francis Robinson. Standard II.: Rex Macphail. Edward Tikao. Standard I- Doreen Wright. Douglas Macphail, and Billy Timothy. Primers: Colin Stewart, Quenton Smith. Tommy Robinson, Bobby Timothv, Martin Skipper. Mervyn Wright, Helen Macphail, Heni Tikao. Attendance prizes for the year were gained by Malta Tikao. Beryl Idle. Marjorie Idle, and lan Macphail. - .-■■ The Akaroa Silver Band was in attendance during the day and played spirited music, which was much appreciated. In the evening a dance was held, which ended a most enjoyable day. Music was played by the Akaroa Band, with extras by Mrs C. Humm and R. A. H. Stewart. Mr H. Rankin efficiently carried out the duties of master of ceremonies.
ROSS AND GLENDINING, LIMITED
The annual picnic of. Ross and Glendining, Ltd.. was held . recently at the Kaiapol Pines, between 60 and 70 people making the journey by buses. HORORATA SUNDAY SCHOOL
The annual picnic of the Hoforata Presbyterian Sunday School was held on the Hororata domain this year because of the wet season. During the afternoon competitions were won by Mrs J.
